Update on 5/6

Dear Parents-
Baseball season starts in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone for signing up and especially to those who have volunteered to coach or sponsor. I need four more sponsors if you were waiting to be asked! $255 gets you a logo on the jerseys and you can pick team name and colors. I will send a separate email to coaches about the upcoming draft, but I wanted to answer a few questions that many parents have. Please make sure you have the correct email address in our system for mom and dad, as it is the primary means of contact for coaches and commissioners.

1. What equipment do I need?
A baseball glove, a batting helmet and a bat. The bat is not entirely necessary, as we only need one at a time and you can borrow. Each player will be provided with a jersey and team cap, but you will need to provide the pants (any color baseball pants are fine) and baseball cleats. No batter will be allowed on the field without a helmet. The league will supply helmets in the dugouts
2. Can I request to be on a team with my son's school friends?
Siblings will always be placed together unless you ask us not to. Other than siblings, we cannot guarantee that you will be on a particular team. Although we do not grade kids in this league, we do draft teams through a draft process. There are many moving parts to a baseball draft, even at this young age, so please bear with us if you end up on a team of friends you have not met yet. The best part of the Carrollton Boosters experience is watching your child make so many great friends he or she would never have met otherwise.
3. When are the games? (last year’s schedule posted below)
The games will start in early May and run through early July. We play a league schedule, so they will be on different days and at different times. As a general rule, expect to play once or twice a week in the weekday evening or on Saturday. Practice is at the discretion of the coach, but I would expect about once a week. Please call or email the coordinators if you have any other questions. And please remind any friends who are planning to play that they need to register soon. We are looking forward to another wonderful season at the ballpark!
Thanks,
Ann
