2014 Tackle Football

Carrollton Boosters is pleased to offer tackle football again this fall.  As we enter our ninth year of providing this sport, we continue to enhance the program as it develops.  Our fundamental model, however, continues to be a recreational program focused on the basics of football.  Our emphasis is on teaching children to play and enjoy the game safely while learning and employing proper running, blocking and tackling technique.  As in all athletics which Carrollton offers, sportsmanship is a cornerstone of our football program. The registration fee for tackle football is $150 for your first child, $125 for each additional child. The $25 discount will also be granted for multiple registrations that include flag and tackle football.

While we do not have a strict weight limit, we reserve the right to move a player up to a different age bracket based on size and ability.  All games in all divisions will be played at Avenger Field adjacent to Children's Hospital.  We will offer a 7/8, a 9/10 and an 11/12 age division.  As in years past, we will allow six year olds to register in the 7/8 division.  7/8s and 9/10s will play in an intramural league against other Carrollton teams.  The 11/12s will likely play against teams from other parks and middle schools.  What division your child falls in is determined by his age as of July 31, 2014.

All equipment, including helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, and pants with pads must be provided by the participant.   All children must be graded and must have all equipment (including mouth guards) in order to participate in grading. Grading will likely take place September 2-5, with games commencing shortly after that and the season concluding around the second week of November. More information about the exact date and time for each age group’s grading will be posted in mid-August.

Finally, we need sponsors and coaches, so please sign up ASAP!
