Carrollton
Boosters is pleased to again offer tackle football this
fall. We will have 6/7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 age groups
this year. All equipment, including helmet, mouth
guard, shoulder pads, and pants with pads must be
provided by the participant. All equipment will be
needed by the first grading day, which will be Monday,
August 30 and which will continue on Tuesday, August 31
(rain day will be Wednesday, September 1 and will only
be needed if either Monday or Tuesday are rained out.)
It is mandatory to attend both sessions of the grading
unless absence is approved by Carrollton. We have
contacted Grundmans (3018 Galleria Drive, Metairie, LA
70001, 833-6602) sporting goods and they will help you
out with fitting and proper equipment if you need help.
Equipment may also be purchased at Sports Authority,
Academy Sports, or any sporting goods store of your
choice. Registration is open and ongoing. The fee is
$150 for your first child, $125 for additional
children.
New this year is the addition of 6 year olds-- if we have sufficient numbers, the 6's will be separated into a separate division, but if numbers are insufficient the 6's will be allowed to play in the 7/8 year old division. Also, we will be expanding the age cut off in the 12 year old division from July 31 to February 1. This will ONLY be for the 12 year old division so if your child was 12 on February 1, 2010, then he will be allowed to play in the 11/12 year old league. In all other divisions, age is determined by age of the player on July 31, 2010. For example, if player A is 10 on July 31, 2010, then he will be eligible to participate in the 9/10 league. Carrollton reserves the right to ask a child to play up or down a division based on size and ability.
Tryouts/grading will be Monday and Tuesday, August 30 and 31, at Larry Gilbert with BOTH sessions mandatory for all participants--- rain day will be Wednesday, September 1. 6/7/8 age group will grade both days from 5-6pm and the 9/10/11/12 age groups will grade from 6-7:15pm--- please be on time. Games should begin mid-September with the season ending by mid-November. Game days will generally be weeknights with the first games beginning at 5pm. Please remember ALL equipment is needed by the first tryout day! For more information, contact Dave Sumrall football@carrolltonboosters.org
Finally, we need sponsors and coaches! Please volunteer to help when you register your child.
