Children in our 3-year-old program (U-4 mixed) are divided into small training groups that meet on Saturday mornings. Each session will include some basic soccer skill training and plenty of fun. All sessions will be held at the Carrollton Boosters’ Riverview sports complex (baseball/softball fields) on the “Fly” behind the Audubon Zoo.
U-17 players train as a group on Wednesday evenings, then play “pick-up” games on Saturdays.
All other players U-6 through U-13 are drafted onto teams, then play a schedule of games from mid-September through mid- November, ending before Thanksgiving. Most games will be on Saturdays, at varying times, plus the U-8, U-10 and U-13 leagues will also have some Friday evening games. All games will be held on the “Fly” behind the Audubon Zoo.
U-6 teams do not generally practice outside of their Saturday time slot. Practices for U-8, U-10, and U-13 leagues will be scheduled by coaches, usually on weeknights on the “Fly”. Practice day, time, and location will be chosen by the coaches. Carrollton Boosters will continue to provide a security detail at its facilities during scheduled practices and games.
Players will be issued a team shirt and socks, to be worn at all games. They will also need shin guards, plus either soccer cleats (preferable) or tennis shoes. Each player should have his or her own ball as well. Appropriate ball sizes are: #3 for U-4, U-6 and U-8, #4 for U-10 and U-13, and #5 for U-17.

All players U6 through U13 are assigned to teams through a player draft. By registering your child, you agree to having him or her placed in the player draft, during which any of our volunteer coaches may pick him or her onto a team.
Carrollton Boosters does not guarantee placement of any player onto any particular team, or onto a team with any particular other player(s). The only exceptions are that coaches get to pick their own children, and that siblings are placed on the same team, unless otherwise requested by their parent/guardian. Further, Carrollton Boosters does not guarantee that a player will be placed on a team with a specified practice day, time, or location. After players have been drafted onto a team, registration fees will not be refunded or credited, except in cases of illness or injury.
COACHESWhen registering your child or children for soccer, please consider coaching your child’s team. Carrollton relies on volunteer parents to coach its teams. Coaching is an excellent way to not only develop a greater appreciation for soccer, but to form a special bond with your son or daughter as the season progresses. As a head coach, you would get to pick the players for your child's team (subject to availability in the draft), and you would get to select a practice slot.
In order to coach, simply answer “yes” to the question when registering, then also register yourself as a coach, and we will contact you.
SPONSORSHIPAnother way to contribute to our program is to sponsor your child’s team. Sponsors select the team’s colors and name, and may include a business name and logo as well. The fee is $300 and can be paid with your child’s registration or can be paid by a separate check. Simply answer “yes” to the sponsor question when registering your child, then, after you have completed your child(ren)’s registration, choose one of three ways to get your sponsor info to us:
1) Click this link to be taken directly to our sponsor form:
Sponsor Form2) e-mail your sponsorship information to Missy McLellan at
[email protected].
3) click the “Soccer sponsor form” tab on our website’s home page.
Important to note:
- Sponsorship choices (colors and team names) are determined by the date they are submitted, i.e first come, first served.
- Your sponsorship will be attached to your child’s team unless you specify otherwise.
If you have any questions regarding sponsoring a team, please contact Missy McLellan at 504-914-7786 or by email to
